Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) helps to relieve withdrawal symptoms and cravings associated with stopping the intake of nicotine. NRT is available as patches, gum, lozenges, inhalers, and/or quickmist. Niquitin Clear Patches are used for the relief of nicotine withdrawal symptoms including cravings as an aid to smoking cessation.

NiQuitin Clear Patches come in three strengths 21mg, 14mg, and 7mg and delivers nicotine over a 24hr period to help with morning cravings. Therapy should usually begin with NiQuitin Clear 21 mg/24 hrs over a 10 week program and be reduced after 6 weeks to the lower strengths.

Light smokers (e.g. those who smoke less than 10 cigarettes per day) are recommended to start at Step 2 (14 mg) for 6 weeks and decrease the dose to NiQuitin Clear 7 mg/24 hrs for the final 2 weeks.

Adults over the age of 18: Apply one new patch (of appropriate strength) to the skin when you wake up (usually in the morning). Remove the following morning.

Step 1: Begin treatment with the highest strength NiQuitin Clear 21mg Patch the day after you stop smoking completely. Use a new NiQuitin Clear 21mg Patch each day for six weeks.

Step 2: If you are successful and avoid smoking during this six-week period, you should then begin to reduce the amount of nicotine you are getting by switching to a lower strength patch. Then use the NiQuitin Clear 14mg Patch each day for two weeks.

Step 3: If you are successful and avoid smoking over this two-week period, then switch to the NiQuitin Clear 10mg Patch each day for a further two weeks.

Remember: Apply each fresh patch to clean, dry, hairless skin of the arm, chest, or hip. Apply to a new part of your body each day. After 2 to 3 days, you may apply to a previous spot if there is no sign of irritation.
